Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar told reporters here that the ruling coalition has accepted unconditional support of GVP, which has two legislators in the state Assembly.
The BJP-led coalition now comprises of Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP), Goa Vikas Party and two independents.
The GVP today announced they will support Alina Saldanha, BJP's official candidate in Cortalim by poll scheduled on June 4.
GVP supremo Fransisco Micky Pacheco said his party will not field its candidate in the constituency, where it has a strong foothold.
Parrikar said GVP had extended their support to the ruling government from the first day onwards when they submitted the letter to the Governor.
"But we were yet to formally accept the support as there was no time to discuss and understand the coalition," the chief minister said.

Responding to a question, Parrikar ruled out that GVP's entry into the coalition is in the backdrop of Cortalim bypoll.
"It was never intended that we will fight against GVP candidate in the constituency," he said.
The Cortalim by-election, which was scheduled on June 2 initially, was postponed by another two days by Election Commission yesterday.
The elections were necessitated in the constituency after the demise of BJP legislator Matanhy Saldanha.
The bypoll is expected to have a straight fight between BJP-led alliance and Congress candidate, Raymond D'Sa.
The Congress yesterday announced D'Sa as its candidate in this constituency.
