BJP state unit president Vinay Tendulkar today defeated his Congress counterpart and sitting Rajya Sabha MP Shantaram Naik on the support of the alliance partners of the saffron party.
Parrikar said with the victory of Tendulkar, Goa now has four MPs in both the Houses of Parliament.
"We have got all the votes whichever we deserved. This is for the first time that a BJP candidate is elected to Rajya Sabha from Goa. Now we have four MPs. This magic can be done only by the BJP," he told reporters.
"With four MPs in Parliament, we can ensure that Goa's demands are met by the Centre," he said.
