Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar who is in his home state of Goa to participate in the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations today said he does not like to mix worship and politics.
"I have not prayed for seats in Goa assembly election (for BJP). Thats why we will have to work towards it and get it (the seats) by approaching the people," Parrikar told reporters after worshipping Lord Ganesh at his ancestral house in Parra village near Mapusa.
"I have asked God to give wisdom," he said.
Parrikar who arrived in Goa on Saturday evening is likely to stay for couple of days.
The union minister's visit attains significance in the backdrop of current happenings in RSS and BJP.
RSS' former Goa chief Subhash Velingkar had accused Parrikar for being responsible for his ouster from the post.
