Sources close to Parrikar said the condition of his son, who is a businessman, is stable.
"Doctors have pronounced that Chief Minister's son is stable now and out of danger," he said without divulging details about the illness of Parrikar's son.
Parrikar, along with his ailing son, had rushed to Mumbai by an early morning flight today.
When the session began, Assembly Speaker Rajendra Arlekar said all the questions related to Parrikar would be postponed till Monday.
The one-month long Assembly session began today which has eight Bills on its schedule, while more than 1,500 questions would be tabled.
