Partha inaugurates private wagon manufacturing factory

"The government is setting up a number of technical institutes (ITI) because there is dearth of technical manpower in the state," Chatterjee said while inaugurating a private Wagon making factory here, in South 24 Parganas district.

"Many industrialists want to set up industry in the state. But for industry you also need technical manpower alongwith land and money. So we are setting in ITIs to train more people in technical knowledge," Chatterjee said.

Speaking on the occasion West Bengal Transport minister Madan Mitra asked workers to abstain from strike and bandh.

If there is strike and bandh then development is hit, Mitra said urging the workers to abstain from strike and bandh.

Mitra said the workers should abstain from strike and bandh but the industrialists should also pay them the right salary.

Union Minister of state for Tourism Sultan Ahmed said many industrialists who left the state during the regime of the Left Front government want to return to West Bengal after the Trinamool Congress government came to power.

Pesko Limited is a private wagon manufacturing factory. It was set up on a budget of Rs 150 crore. The factory could manufacture around 3000 wagons and would give employment to around 1200 people, the company sources claimed.
