"Politics has crept into the continued agitation by para teachers (demanding confirmation of their jobs). Some political parties are instigating them. This will only create anarchy in the education system," Ram said.
Addressing a convention of the Jharkhand Primary Teachers Sangh here, the minister said confirmation of jobs of para teachers was not possible under government rules.
"Para teachers can't be regularized because of the rules. The state can make the process of appointment liberal but the aspirants, including para-teachers, have to take competitive examinations to become permanent," he added.
Expressing disappointment over teachers appointed for schools in rural areas but seeking transfer to urban centres, the minister asked, "What will happen to education in the rural areas if all of them seek transfers to towns?"
The state government appointed the para-teachers on ad hoc basis a few years ago to meet shortage of teachers at various levels in schools. Last week it raised their remuneration.
The para-teachers have been demanding automatic confirmation of their jobs and salaries be paid at par with permanent teachers.
