Parts of Kerala under spell of heatwave, Palakkad hottest

Parts of Kerala today continued to be under the spell of heatwave with Malampuzha in Palakkad district recording a maximum of 41.6 degrees Celsius.
While Kozhikode recorded 39.2 degrees Celsius, in Kannur the maximum temperature touched 37.8 degrees Celsius, sources in regional Met office here said.
In Thiruvananthapuram city, the highest temperature recorded today was 35.4 degrees Celsius, they said.
There was some respite in the evening in the city with 7.22 mm of rain being recorded, they added.
Two persons had died of suspected sun burns in Kottayam and Kannur districts yesterday.
