Parts of UP get rains; one killed 12 injured in thunderstorm

Parts of Uttar Pradesh received light to moderate showers while a minor girl was killed and 12 persons were injured in thunderstorm which hit Bhadohi district of the state.
Handia got 5 cm rain, Karchana 4 cm; Allahabad, Chunar, Salon, Kunda, Purwa, Varanasi 3 cm each; Phoolpur, Baberu, Mirzapur 2 cm each and Barra, Mariahu, Nighasan, Churk, Jalaun 1 cm each in the past 24 hours, according to Meteorological Department.
The Met has forecast that rain or thundershowers may occur at isolated places over east UP and at a few places in western parts on June 24.
Meanwhile, a 13-year-old girl was killed and 12 persons were injured due to thunderstorm in Bhulaipur village of Bhadohi district yesterday.

Additional District Magistrate Daya Shanker Pandey said that a financial assistance of Rs 1.5 lakh has been given to the next of the kin of the girl and injured were being treated at a government hospital.
