Justice H N Nagamohan Das adjourned the hearing after granting permission to Mazurier's wife Suja Jones, the complainant, to implead herself as second respondent.

The judge said Suja's advocate Pramila Nesargi can assist the state prosecutor in the case.

During the hearing, Nesargi sought to implead her client in the case since Mazurier had not submitted documents, including a medical certificate as sought by the court.

Mazurier's advocate C V Nagesh argued that Suja Jones should not be granted permission to implead herself as the bail petition is between his client and the state.

Mazurier, Consular Attache to Consulate General of France here had moved the High Court on August 7, seeking bail.

In his petition, he had pointed out that as per the Forensic Sciences Laboratory (Bangalore) test report, his DNA profile did not match with that of the child.

On July 27, the Fast Track Court-I had rejected his bail plea observing that "though DNA test has not tallied with the DNA profile of the accused, bail cannot be granted to him only on this ground."

Pascal was arrested on June 19 on a complaint by his wife alleging that he had raped his daughter.
