Passenger detained for smuggling one kg gold

A passenger was detained today for smuggling gold weighing approximately one kg at Sanaganer airport here, custom officials said.
The passenger hailing from Kerala arrived here in an Air Arabia flight from Sharjah this morning, they said.
He was carrying the gold hidden in his baggage but it was detected in scanning, said custom officials.
He has been detained and is being interrogated, they added.
