Passengers escape unhurt after live wire falls on bus

The passengers of a Madurai-bound state-owned transport corporation bus had a miraculous escape after a live electric wire snapped and fell on it near here today, police said.
The wire which was hanging too low got trapped in the ladder on the rear side of the bus near Mandapam. Just as the passengers felt the shock and raised an alarm and the driver halted the bus, the wire got cut off on its own.
The electricity department workers rushed to the spot and removed the wire, police said.
