The plane returned to the terminal but the passengers were made to sit in the aircraft while engineers tried to rectify the fault, they said.

According to sources, the flight was rescheduled for today and the passengers had to wait for about two-three hours before they were provided hotel accommodation at around 4 PM.

The ordeal was even deeper for wheelchair-bound passengers and children with Delhi recording the hottest day of the season yesterday at 44 degrees Celsius.

Though rescheduled for today, the flight has again been rescheduled for tomorrow as the fault could not be rectified completely.
