"The people of Bihar are not safe and secure anymore in Bihar due to deterioration in law and order situation in state.... The Nitish Kumar government is guilty of violation of human rights of its people as such," he said at a dharna at Kargil chowk here to mark the International Human Rights Day.
Women, dalits, minorities, no one felt safe and secure in their own state, Paswan alleged and added that crime has spiralled manifold in Bihar since the days of the RJD-led rule.
A wide range of criminal activities have rocked the state during recent times like murder of political workers, removal of uteruses of women by doctors, deaths of minorities in police firing and hooch tragedies claiming scores of lives, etc, the LJP supremo alleged.
Paswan also charged the NDA regime with patronizing those people engaged in manufacturing and marketing of spurious liqour that has claimed hundreds of lives in Bihar, he said referring to deaths of at least 15 people in hooch tragedy in Bhojpur district.
As if it was not satisfied with its intention to compel the rural people to take up drinking by setting up licensed liqour shops in all villages, the state government has been brazenly patronizing the unauthorized liqour vendors who sell spurious liqour that kill people, the LJP chief said.
