A delegation led by Union Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan will visit Chandigarh tomorrow to take stock of crops damaged by untimely rains and hailstorms in Haryana.
Union Minister of State for Agriculture Sanjeev Kumar Balyan will also be a part of the delegation, a spokesperson of Haryana Agriculture Department said today.
The team would meet Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and interact with concerned ministers and senior officers of Revenue and Disaster Management, Power, Development and Panchayats, Agriculture, Cooperation, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Food and Supplies, Irrigation and other departments, he said.
Haryana government had already sought assistance of Rs 500 crore from the Centre for crop loss suffered by farmers in the state because of unseasonal rains and hailstorm this month.
The BJP-led state government had also demanded concession at the time of procurement for the difference in the quality of wheat crop due to the adverse impact of weather.
