The 88-year-old leader, if appears, would be quizzed by the counsel for 32-year-old Rohit Shekhar and his mother Ujjawala Sharma in the case which was filed in 2008.
S M Chopra, a former additional district judge who has been appointed as the local commissioner by the High Court to record evidence on day-to-day basis, has fixed August 21 and 22 as dates for the examination of Tiwari in the case.
The counsel for Tiwari had indicated that he may file an application before the court seeking an order to conduct his cross-examination outside Delhi.
The leader, so far, has refused to settle the lawsuit out of the court through mediation saying that there was a possibility that even the medical evidence was not hundred per cent accurate.
