An FIR was today registered against two doctors, including Chief Medical Superintendent of the district hospital, for their alleged laxity leading to the death of a patient due to burn injuries.
The FIR was registered against CMS Dr Keshav Swami and Dr Meraj after the patient, Vinay Kumar (45), died this morning, police said.
According to the aggrieved family members, Kumar was admitted to the district hospital on June 12 with burn injuries where the doctors asked them to arrange O(-) blood because it was not available with the hospital.
The family members alleged that when they managed O(-) blood, they staff said the blood required was 0(+).
They alleged Kumar died due to lack of timely treatment and blocked the road outside the hospital.
Police are probing the matter but no arrests has been made in this connection so far.
