He said that he had directed all the Senior Medical Officers (SMOs) and Civil Surgeons to implement it with immediate effect.
The Minister said that he had received the report that the white bed sheets being used in the government hospitals were not cleaned properly which might cause infection to patients admitted there.
Vij said he had asked the senior officers of the department to conduct surprise raid in the hospitals and take action against the concerned officials if the negligence in new arrangement was noticed.
Meanwhile, SMO of Ambala cantonment civil hospital, Dr Satish Kumar, said he had arranged sufficient number of bed sheets of blue, green, yellow, red and other colours to put the order of minister into practice.
He said that it would grant big relief to indoor patients.
