Patna witnesses season's lowest min temp at 5.6 deg C

Patna, the state capital, today witnessed season's lowest minimum temperature at 5.6 degrees Celsius, mainly due to westerly wind and snowfall in northern states of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.
Gaya, Bhagalpur and Purnea, other major important cities of the state, also witnessed a decline in minimum temperature by 4 degrees Celsius in comparison to yesterday's minimum temperature.
As per the MeT official, the state capital's minimum temperature stood at 5.6 degrees Celsius which was recorded at 5:30 am today.
Patna, whose residents woke up to a sunny day in the morning, registered a minimum temperature of 10.4 degrees Celsius yesterday, a decline of 4.8 degrees Celsius.
"The minimum temperature has fallen because of clear sky in the absence of fog and westerly wind coupled with snowfall in northern states of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh," MeT official said.
The minimum temperature is expected to witness increase in next 3-4 days, he said and added that major parts of the state were affected by the snowfall in northern states and westerly wind that is blowing at 18-30 kmph.
Gaya recorded the minimum temperature at 6.7 degrees Celsius today against yesterday's 11.1 degrees Celsius.
Bhagalpur recorded 9.8 degrees Celsius against yesterday's 13.1 degrees Celsius while Purnea registered the minimum temperature at 7.3 degrees Celsius against 11.4 degrees Celsius.
