Both are newly single after Perry's alleged short romance with Mayer ended recently and Pattinson's actress girlfriend Kristen Stewart was caught having a fling with director Rupert Sanders last month.
Perry and Pattinson were seen enjoying dinner at Soho House in Los Angeles, reported Sun online.
They have been friends for a while and after Stewart cheated on Pattinson Perry was there to lend him a shoulder to cry on.
Now it seems the "Twilight" star has returned the favour, which also fuelled rumours that a potential romance is on the cards.
