"Coronation Street" star Paula Lane is hoping to encourage young actors and actresses by opening a drama school.
Lane and her husband Tom Shaw are set to open the doors to the Lane Shaw Academy at Hebden Bridge's Hope Baptist Church on Saturday, October 10, reported Digital Spy.
One-hour classes will be split into three age groups between 5 and 16 to coincide with school holidays.
"We are so looking forward to the school opening. I know from personal experience the advantages that acting can bring to a young person and it can be a great starting block to build up confidence in a young person's development, for example with public speaking and social skills," Lane said.
Lane lived in Hebden Bridge before beginning her own professional training at the Central School of Speech and Drama.
Since 2010, she has trod the cobbles of "Coronation Street" as Kylie Platt.
