Pawar enters round 3 of Bitburger

Indian shuttler Anand Pawar defeated Erik Meijs of Netherlands to enter the third round of the Bitburger Open Grand Prix Gold in Saarbrucken, Germany today.
Fifth seeded Pawar got the better of Meijs in straight games 21-12 21-14.
Earlier, Pawar notched up a comprehensive victory over Ukraine's KyryloLeonov to reach the second round.
He thrashed Leonov 21-12 21-13 in a 25-minute men's singles match to set up a clash against Meijs.
However, it was end of the road for Arvind Bhat as the Indian lost to third seed Rajiv Ouseph of England 12-21 17-21 in another men's singles match.
Pawar opened up a 3-0 lead early on and didn't allow the Ukrainian to reduce the gap. He dominated the proceedings and moved swiftly to 9-4 and then 14-5 to eventually pocket the first game.
In the second game, Leonov's fight lasted for the initial four points as after that Pawar once again surged ahead and sealed the match without much ado.
