Shelling out few extra bucks could ensure you a vacant adjacent seat if you want to have some privacy for yourself in a SpiceJet flight.
Under the Empty Seat Option (ESO), flier can get an adjacent empty seat at a nominal price, Optiontown founder and CEO Sachin Goel told reporters here.
US-based IT company Optiontown has tied up with the low cost carrier to provide post-sale services of choosing an empty seat, to make bookings on multiple flights or in a preferred flight and even get rewarded for having a flexible flying plan.
Customers can use these facilities, which are clubbed under the product brand 'Fexlifly' after buying a ticket of SpiceJet flight either at the airline's or Optiontown's website.
"With ESO, a passenger will have exclusive rights to use the assigned empty seats for entire duration of flight. It's almost like getting a flat bed when one secures the entire row of three seats. For this, they will have to pay Rs 50 as sign up price and a nominal ESO price (starting from Rs 250) anytime between 72 to four hours before the flight," Goel said.
The multiple booking option (MBO) allows the fliers to hold the confirmed availability on additional flights of their choice. The customer gets the right to decide upto 24 hours before departure, which flight they want to fly on.
