"We will set up a buyer-seller cluster in Gujarat whereby we will be selling fastener items made in Punjab through our representatives to be appointed in that state in order to boost MSME sector here," Fastener Manufacturers Association of India President Narinder Bhamra said today.
Bhamra said Gujarat as the state offers immense potential because of the presence of a host of industries in the field of refinery, power and automobile and fastener products like nuts and bolts could be used in these sectors in a big way.
A fastener mechanically joins or affixes two or more objects together like nuts, bolts, screws and washers.
Punjab state is one of the biggest producers of fastener products in the country. It has an annual production of about Rs 5,500 crore from over 1,200 units, out of which exports constitute 30 per cent of total size.
