Hisar in Haryana was the hottest place in the neighbouring states recording a maximum temperature three notches above normal, the MeT department said here.
Ambala witnessed a hot day with a temperature 42.4 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal and Karnal's maximum settled at 41.4 degrees Celsius, it said.
Chandigarh, the common capital of Punjab and Haryana, braved a hot day at 41.4 degrees Celsius, up three notches than normal.
In Punjab, hot weather conditions prevailed in Amritsar at 41.7 degrees Celsius, the department said.
