Chairing meetings to review the progress of several schemes, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal asked the Secretary, Social Security, to personally oversee the verification work to ensure that genuine beneficiaries gets benefited.
He deputed nearly 155 Child Development and Project Officers (CDPOs) across the state to complete the verification process by the end of this month and sought a consolidated list of eligible beneficiaries for these social security schemes.
Briefing the Chief Minister, the Secretary, Social Security, said these pensions at the rate of Rs 500 per month under the above said schemes have been paid up to May.
The Secretary, Welfare of SCs/BCs, said the payment of Shagun have been disbursed for the last two months.

Badal asked the Secretary to personally take up the issue with the Centre for prompt release of funds for the students under SC/OBC and minorities scholarship schemes.
The Principal Secretary, Health & Family Welfare, informed the Chief Minister that 472 hospitals have been empanelled under Bhagat Puran Singh Sehat Bima scheme, of which 215 were government and 237 private.
If any beneficiary faced any sort of problem with regard
to this scheme or had any grievance, he or she should immediately contact helpline 104 to register their complaint, added the Principal Secretary, Health.
Reviewing the progress of various Road Repair Projects, Badal directed the Mandi Board and PWD (B&R) Department to complete these projects by June 30 and the remaining road repair ones by October 31.
While monitoring the functioning of Water Supply & Sanitation Department, he asked its Secretary to ensure completion of construction of 4,000 household latrines in 8,000 villages at a cost of Rs 600 crore by the end of December 2016.
Apart from this, the Chief Minister also asked the officers to complete other water supply schemes in nearly 9,000 villages on the priority to supply potable drinking water to the residents.
