Punjab will soon announce its mining policy to bring down the prices of sand and gravel, state Industries Minister Madan Mohan Mittal said today.
The state government wants to provide sand, stones and other minerals to general public at very reasonable rates... It is studying mining policies of some other states where this policy is successful, he said while speaking to reporters.
A team of senior industries department officers are in touch with these states, he added.
Mittal said the policy was almost in its final stage and he would like to incorporate important features of the policies followed by other states before announcing it.
