PCB optimistic of playing against India next year

The Pakistan Cricket Board is once again hopeful that a bilateral series with India might be organised by next year.
The optimism has come from a meeting that PCB Chairman, Najam Sethi had with his Indian counterpart N Srinivasan during the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting in Hong Kong recently.
"The President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, N. Srinivasan told me during the meeting there is a chance both teams could play by end of 2014 after the general elections in India," Sethi told reporters on his return from Hong Kong.
"There is no written agreement between the two boards on when this series might be played but Srinivasan said they would consider a series. But the fact that talks are being held and the BCCI is thinking on these lines is a positive development itself," he said.

Apart from a short one-day series last December in India, the two countries have not played a full bilateral series since 2007 due to political and diplomatic tensions between the two countries.
India in early 2008 cancelled a full tour to Pakistan because of the Mumbai terror attacks and since they have not allowed any Pakistani player in the IPL.
Sethi said he was hopeful that the two teams could indeed play next year as this would mean handsome revenues for both boards and said people of both sides wanted to see the two teams play against each other regularly.
