Expressing concern over yesterday's incident at Samrala chowk in which five persons were also injured, CWC member and Punjab political affairs incharge Gulchain Singh Charak urged the state government to provide adequate financial relief to the families of the deceased.

He also said all medical facilities and financial help should be provided to those injured in the incident.

He said it was imperative for the authorities to enquire as to how a highly explosive device had burst in a godown.

The state government must thoroughly probe this incident and make it sure it is not linked to anti-national forces trying to revive their activities in the state, he said.

"We are going to meet the Home Minister also in this regard. I appeal to the people of Punjab to be vigilant and maintain age old tradition of brotherhood and urge upon the state government to take all necessary measures for the safety and security of the people," he said in a statement here.

Commissioner of Police (CP) Ishwar Singh had yesterday ruled out any terrorist link in the explosion, and said Forensic Experts had been summoned from Chandigarh to probe the incident.
