Opposition PDP expressed concerns over indiscriminate arrests and other coercive measures resorted to by the state government to quell protests in Kashmir.
PDP legislators met here under the leadership of the party president and head of the Legislature Party leader Mehbooba Mufti today and condemned the mindless and direction-less approach of the state government.
Mufti alleged that the forum of Assembly has unfortunately been undermined by the present dispensation headed by Omar Abdullah and people's voice was muzzled in a brazen manner.
The legislators present in the meeting said Kashmiris are being pushed into uncertainty by the NC-Congress government.
They said hundreds of people, both young and old including minors, are daily picked up from across the Kashmir Valley and booked under false cases.
Killings, arrests, ransacking of private property by security forces and frequent curfew have become routine like in 2010 and suspension of mobile services, censorship of news and crackdowns are only making things worse, they alleged.
