NC alleged that its members were almost manhandled and vulgar language was used, while PDP member Murtaza Khan denied any such incident.
"Murtaza Khan (PDP member) directed me to resign from the panel before the meeting commenced on the ground that I had written a letter long back as Secretary Industries for acquisition of land in Samba. I told him how my withdrawing from committee is warranted," NC MLC and member of the House Committee Vijay Bakaya told PTI.
"My conscience is clear ... You are nobody to ask me to resign ... There should be logic behind the statement," he said adding even if there is any such issue, it was for the Chairman of Legislative Council to decide.
This triggered a verbal duel between the two sides. "He (Murtaza) got up and almost manhandled me and used vulgar language. Others came to save the situation," Bakaya said adding that he would a privilege motion against the PDP MLC.
However, countering the allegation, PDP MLC Murtaza Khan denied having manhandled the NC MLC or used vuglar language.
