PDP seeks debate on amnesty to youths in stone pelting cases
Press Trust of India Srinagar PDP today moved an adjournment motion in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, seeking a debate over the situation that has arisen due to the insecurity among youths over the government's failure to grant amnesty in stone pelting cases registered against them.
"A grave situation has arisen due to the insecurity among youth because of government failure to grant amnesty in FIRs/ cases registered against them. This House needs to take cognisance of the gravity and urgency of the issue," the adjournment motion moved by PDP MLAs reads.
"We, therefore, seek adjournment of the normal business for 26-08-2014 (Tuesday) under Rule 56 of the Rules and conduct of Business for discussion on the issue," the party said.
PDP spokesman said MLAs sought adjournment of the normal business on Tuesday for discussion on the issue.
