"It was inhuman of the state government to curtail the electricity and water supply in this scorching weather", the protesters alleged.

They also claimed that despite the Jammu region making the major contribution towards the government revenue, the people here are forced to live without water and electricity.

"Around 70 per cent of the revenue is generated by Jammu and still we are being treated as second class citizens. The state produces 2300 MW of electricity out of which 1600 MW is kept for the use of the state", the protesters averred.

"... And in that just 40 per cent is diverted to Jammu, while 60 per cent of the electricity is dispensed to Kashmir", alleged spokesperson of the party Sardar Rangil Singh.

He also said that there is a general perception that along with the darbar move, the government also shifts electricity to the Valley.

The protesters, led by party state secretary Fallail Singh, district president R K Bali and general secretary Balbir Singh, also raised slogans against the government.
