Peas, gram rise on high demand

Peas and gram prices rose up to Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale market owing to pick-up in demand from retailers amid slowdown in arrivals from producing belts.
However, other pulses settled around previous levels after moving in a tight range in limited deals.
Marketmen said pick-up in demand from retailers amid restricted arrivals from producing belts mainly led to the rise in peas and gram prices.
In the national capital,peas white and green edged up by Rs 25 each to Rs 2,725-2,750 and Rs 2,800-2,900 per quintal respectively.
Gram, gram dal local and best quality were up by Rs 50 each to Rs 4,000-4575, Rs 4,250-4,450 and Rs 4,350-4,650 per quintal respectively.
Besin Shaktibhog and Rajdhani were enquired higher by Rs 50 each to Rs 1,800 each per 35 kg respectively.
