"The answer lies with the people of Uttarakhand who will decide which missile is guided and which one is misguided in the Lok Sabha polls.
How can someone who has himself landed in state politics by a parachute know what a missile really is," Maharaj said in a statement here.
The Chief Minister had yesterday said while Maharaj's joining BJP made him look like a "misguided missile", former Haridwar MLA Ambrish Kumar's return to Congress was like a "guided" missile landing at the right place.
The former Congress heavyweight, who has a large following even as a spiritual leader said he had gone amid calamity-hit people and offered help whereas the chief minister had so far given them only assurances.
Noting that people cannot be befooled, Maharaj said they will ensure the victory of BJP candidates from the five Lok Sabha seats in Uttarakhand.
The incumbent Pauri MP said he will campaign extensively for the victory of BJP nominees in the state and leave no stone unturned to see that Narendra Modi becomes the country's next Prime Minister.
