Pep talks don't win matches, absorbing pressure does: Imran
Press Trust of India Kolkata Pakistan's legendary captain Imran Khan today was critical of current team's tendency to wilt under pressure stating that Shahid Afridi's boys need to learn about playing under pressure and no amount of pep talk can lift their game.
Imran Khan met the Pakistan players yesterday morning before the match against India and spoke to the players. The news doing rounds was that Umar Akmal requested Imran to ask skipper Shahid Afridi to change his batting order, which has not gone down well with the team management.
"I spoke to Ajmal before the match. The match is over so let's move on," Imran tried to put an end to the controversy while speaking to the reporters.
"I always try and help the Pakistan team in the best way I can. They need to understand how to play under pressure. One part of game is in the mind and the other part is played on the ground. So you need to implement this while playing. You can't win matches by (pep) talks. The team has to perform and that's the only way you can win," said the World Cup winning Pakistan captain.
