Pepper, copra decline on reduced demand

Elsewhere, black pepper declined owing to poor retail offtake.

Black pepper went down by Rs 5 per kilo to Rs 435/460 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 440/465.

Copra Rajapur Mumbai slumped by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 6,800 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 7,000.

Copra edible Mumbai dropped by Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 5,350 from Rs 5,400 last weekend.

Copra office Alapuzha and copra office Kozhikode both eased by Rs 25 per quintal each to Rs 4,125 and Rs 4,025 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 4,150 and Rs 4,050 respectively.

The following are today's closing rates in rupees with previous rates in brackets:

Black pepper (per kg) 435/460 (440/465), ginger bleached (per kg) 120 (120), ginger unbleached (per kg) 130 (130), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 4,125 (4,150), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 4,025 (4,050), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 6,800 (7,000) and copra edible Mumbai (per qintal) 5,350 (5,400).
