Pepper prices dipped 0.79 per cent to Rs 43,400 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators trimmed their positions, taking negative cues from spot market on easing demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, pepper for delivery in October drifted lower by Rs 345, or 0.79 per cent to Rs 43,400 per quintal with an open interest of 55 lots.
Market analysts said offloading of positions by traders, driven by fall in demand in the physical market against adequate stock position on increased supplies, mainly weighed on pepper prices at futures trade.
