"The party high command is clear. Undisciplined leaders will have to be disciplined. They will have to (either) perform or perish during the upcoming polls," Faleiro told mediapersons a week after he met party vice-president Rahul Gandhi in Delhi.
Seeking to set the Congress' house in order in the poll-bound state, Gandhi had summoned several leaders to Delhi last week, where he reportedly told them to shun differences and work in unison to ensure the party's victory.
About some leaders remaining absent at the meeting, Faleiro said, "MLAs fall in the domain of Congress Legislative Party. You can ask CLP leader Pratapsinh Rane."
Congress was reduced to single digit, nine, in the 2012 elections in Goa as BJP came to power under the leadership of Manohar Parrikar.
The party was reduced to seven seats after one of its MLAs Atanasio Monserratte was expelled for anti-party activities and another legislator Mauvin Godinho publicly announced his intention to join BJP.
Adding to its woes, Congress' Cumbharjua MLA Pandurang Madkaikar recently said he will not remain in the party in upcoming polls.
