HCIL is a subsidiary of the national carrier Air India.
The government has also approved a total of Rs 35.29 crore to the HCIL for the renovation of its properties in Delhi and Srinagar, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Mahesh Sharma said.
Out of this, Rs 22 crore has been released for the renovation of the HCIL's properties, adding that the Chefair Flight Catering has undergone renovation along with Centaur Hotel in Delhi.
In the second phase, an amount of Rs three crore has been earmarked for Chefair, Delhi for procurement of kitchen equipment and two hi-lifts required for upliftment of food to the airlines, Sharma said.
He said that as on July 1, 2015, sanctioned staff strength of Chefair Flight Catering, Delhi was 422 while filled strength was 90 (permanent) in addition to 51 casuals, seven contractual and one temporary.
