The Madras High Court today dismissed a petition filed by seeking a direction to the State and Central Governments to strengthen the Intelligence Agency and improve their skills in Tamil Nadu.

This is the function which the court cannot undertake, though there can be no doubt about the principle that well trained and adequate members of Intelligence staff is necessary, keeping in mind the complexity of the crimes.
The petitioner K K Ramesh, an advocate, narrated several incidents that took place in the state including the agitations that took place against commissioning of Koodankulam Nuclear Power Plant.
He alleged failure of Intelligence casued many of the riots.
