The petition contended that the term of the Khandoba Temple Trust expired on July 13, 2011, but the same Trustees continue to govern the place of worship which has allegedly resulted in mis-management and poor service to devotees.

The petition alleged that the Charity Commissioner has not taken any steps to hold election of the Trust and urged that a Court Receiver may be appointed to look after the affairs of the temple until fresh elections are held.

The petition alleged that there is no provision of drinking water or toilets or dustbins in the temple premises.

A large volume of dirt gets piled up every day and beggars and eunuch freely move around harassing devotees, the petition filed by Nanda Raut and Surendra Kadam alleged.

The petition alleged that donations given by the devotees are not properly accounted for and the Trust functioned with the support of local political leaders.

The Maharashtra government has informed that the Anti Corruption Bureau was probing a case in which an inspector in the Charity Commissioner's office was trapped in regard to matter concerning Khandoba Trust and that all files of the Trust were lying with ACB.
