A P.G. Tamil Teacher Assistant aspirant today sought a direction from the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court to direct the Teachers Recruitment Board to declare omission of two questions in the competitive exam for direct recruitment of P.G Assistant (2013-14 and 2014-15) for Tamil subject, in the Key-answer as null and void.
The petitioner R.Jeyachitra said she had understood the question, though it had minor printing mistakes, and had given correct reply to them.
But to her shock the two questions had been omitted in the key answer and the examination papers were evaluated accordingly. The court should direct the officials to evaluate the questions and consider her appointing as PG Assistant.
The petitioner said omission of two questions was highly arbitrary and erroneous and the same was liable to be declared as illegal. Changing the evaluation pattern to value out of 148 marks, instead of 150 marks as per a notification, was like changing the rules of the game after it had commenced in the words of Supreme Court, petitioner submitted.
She claimed that she had rightly answered questions no.57 and 80, as there were only two printing mistakes, and the omission of the questions for valuation, would deprive her of her valuable marks.
In 2013, when the Teachers Recruitment Board conducted the exam, there were vital mistakes in 40 questions and it had valued all the questions and awarded marks for them, the petitioner claimed and a sought a direction to the Board for declaring omission of the two questions in the Key-answer as null and void.
