Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan today ordered cancellation of the post-graduate medical entrance exam, 2014, held on March 2, following a CID inquiry into allegations of malpractices.
Dates for fresh examination will be announced soon, official sources said here.
The Government "after careful consideration" had decided to cancel the PGMET 2014 and direct the Registrar, Dr NTR University of Health Sciences to conduct the entrance examination afresh, a Government Order said.
It added that the Additional Director General, CID, submitted a report to the Chief Secretary, which established that certain 'consultancy service agencies' shared leaked question paper with candidates.
Students, juniors doctors' association and some public representatives had complained to the University Vice Chancellor and the Governor about malpractices.
