The PHF executive board unanimously appointed former Olympian, Islahuddin Siddiqui as the chief selector while another former great, Shahnaz Sheikh was named as the head coach and manager of the senior team.
Former defender and Olympian, Manzur ul Hasan will be head coach and manager of the national junior team.
The PHF also named several other former Olympians as members of the national selection committee or on the senior and junior team managements.
A bigger blow is the failure of the national team to take part in the Commonwealth Games owing to the tussle between the parallel national Olympic bodies.

There is also a big question mark over whether Pakistan will be able to participate in the Asian Games.
The PHF this year also decided against sending its team for the Azlan Shah tournament in Malaysia owing to financial constraints.
"We are making efforts to draw on the experience of our former greats and we feel now Pakistan hockey can only be revived through the collective efforts of the hockey community," PHF secretary, Rana Mujahid told a news conference in Lahore.
