Creating a new pain management category under its consumer life style division, the company aims to tap country's Rs 2,500 crore pain management market.
"India is ready for products based on infrared technology which we are launching here today for domestic market," company's Consumer Lifestyle division, President ADA Ratnam told reporters here today.
Designed for in-home usage, the new products are based on infrared technology which is more effective and safer than other pain relief solutions such as painkillers, balms, etc, he said.
"The warmth created by infrared light penetrates deep to stimulate blood circulation and warm muscles. As muscles are soothed, they automatically loosen up and as a result, stiffness gets reduced," he said.

"The introduction of pain management as a new category is a reaffirmation of our commitment to offer products that will help consumers lead a healthy and active lifestyle," he said.
India is the 10th country where Philips has launched its pain management products. "These products are already available in Germany, Taiwan, China, Poland, etc," said company's Marketing Director, Jayati Singh.
Pain management market with products like balm, sprays, etc is estimated to be Rs 2,500 crore, growing at a pace of 16-20 per cent per annum, Singh said.
"We will be targeting markets including Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Chennai, etc," she said.
