Photo exhibition on Angkor Wat temples opens

A photo exhibition on Angkor Wat group of temples of Cambodia was opened here today by Union Minister Kiren Rijiju.
The Minister of State for Home also saw the photo shots of the popular temples, one of the most important archaeological sites of southeast Asia.
The exhibition on the world heritage temples, which were once conserved by Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), will have 50 works captured by the lens depicting the architectural marvel of these temples which were inspired by the Chola and Pallava architecture of southern India between 6th century AD-14th century AD.
The temple groups are also popular as being the largest religious monument in the world and scores of tourists, including from India, travel every year to Cambodia to visit the images of their great architecture and creative finesse.
The four-day exhibition is being held at the visual art gallery at India Habitat Centre between till January 24 and has been brought together and presented by IPS officer Somesh Goyal who works in Delhi.
Goyal, a 1984-batch of Himachal Pradesh cadre officer, has earlier showcased his photography skills in capturing the beauty of animals.
