Photographic exhibition on US-India relations inaugurated

A photographic exhibition entitled "Kindred Nations: The United States and India:1783-1947" was today inaugurated here by acting US Consul General Cory Wilcox.
It showcased US-India relations over the past two centuries through historical images gathered from museums and personal collections.
The exhibition featured several works related to the city which included Swami Vivekananda at Green Acre School in Maryland, USA in 1894, American businessman John Atkinson's house in Kolkata, Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore's meeting with author Helen Keller.
Wilcox said, "people-to-people engagement is the anchor of the US-India relationship. Our bilateral relationship is in full bloom because of people like you who make the effort to bridge our two nations together through culture, religion, business, and education".
