PIC to organise 'Pune Dialogue on National Security' 2017
Press Trust of India Pune India and the emerging new world order, extremist trends in Islam and India, and the rise of China and its impact on India are some of the key themes of this year's Pune Dialogue on National Security (PDNS)- 2017, organised by Pune International Centre (PIC).
The third edition of the two-day conference, which revolves around pertinent national security subjects such as maritime security, nuclear deterrence, cyber space challenges and opportunities, national resources, is scheduled to begin from September 15.
Experts from India as well as from other countries such as Afghanistan, China, Russia, UK, Japan and US are expected to participate in the event.
Renowned economist and vice president of PIC Vijay Kelkar, while addressing a press conference, informed about the third edition of Pune Dialogue on National Security and said PDNS-2017 will deliberate on three themes over two days which include India and the emerging new world order, extremist trends in Islam and India, and the rise of China and its impact on India.
"Dr Dmitry Suslov, Director of Research at Council on Foreign and Defence Policy, Moscow, Prof John Hemmings, Director, Asia Studies Centre, Henry Jackson Society, London, Prof Shen Dingli and Prof Tsutomu Kikuchi will be some of the key speakers," said Kelkar.
He added experts such as the vice-chairman, Niti Aayog, Chief Economic Advisor, Government of India, former Intelligence Bureau Chief, RAW Chief and some of the former foreign secretaries of India will be attending the conference.
Kelkar said post PDNS, a detailed report on the salient aspects of discussion and key recommendations will be compiled by PIC and will be shared with the PMO, NSA and other stakeholders in the domain of national security.
