Condemning an incident of atrocity against a woman in Rajasthan's Thuravad village of Rajsamand, Pradesh Congress Committee President Sachin Pilot today alleged that the law and order situation had deteriorated and women were not safe in the state.
In a statement here, Pilot said it was highly derogatory and insulting to the human society that a woman was badly treated, beaten up, and paraded half-naked on a donkey's back on suspicion of a crime by villagers in Thuravad of Rajsamand district.
Members of a community panchayat in tribal area of Rajsamand district blackened the face of a 45-year-old woman's, stripped her half-naked and paraded her on a donkey's back suspecting her role in a murder case on Saturday.
"Neither woman nor children were safe in the BJP rule, Pilot said, referring to Kota's kid abduction and murder case. This puts a question mark on a woman chief minister's ruling," Pilot said.
The state government should ensure safety and security of every citizen especially of woman and children, and such incidents should not be repeated, he added.
