Pistachio prices gain on rising demand

Pistachio prices edged up by Rs 10 per kg in the national capital today following increased buying by retailers and stockists amidst fall in supplies from overseas markets.
Prices of pistachio hairati and peshwari rose by Rs 10 each to conclude at Rs 1,380-1,450 and Rs 1,500-1,525 per kg, respectively.
Marketmen said increased offtake by retailers and stockists amid fall in supplies from overseas markets mainly pushed up pistachio prices on the dry fruit market here.
Following are today's quotations (per 40 kg):
Almond (California) Rs 22,200, Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 8,200-8,300; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 6,200-6,300; Abjosh Afghani Rs 15,000-25,000.
Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 770-790 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 650-740 per kg.
